Love from Austin

I wanted to share a couple highlights from my trip to Austin this weekend. We stayed at the Colton House and I loved walking down Congress Street which is full of cute shops and restaurants. We stopped at The Salty for iced tea and donuts, Two Hands, Tiny Boxwoods, Terry Black’s BBQ for lunch, and Uchi for dinner (so good!). I found a cute Levi jumpsuit, Alex Mill cotton l/s cotton polo, and I really liked this Alex Mill coat. I did a run through of Sezane and scouted a great cotton sweater, reasonably priced suede and leather boot, and trousers. By George had a beautiful Wandler crossbody bag and Autry sneakers. Tevcova was packed with people shopping for cowboy boots, I happen to love the Jamie boot in suede. Lastly I stopped into Maufrais a custom cowboy hat store. You can spend hours in there my friend designed the most beautiful hat!

Things that arrived this week that I loveQuince V Neck Cashmere Sweater // Quince Leather Blazer // Jeanerica Raw Denim St. Monica Full Length Jean (great dressy jean) // J. Crew Cashmere Tank // J. Crew Lace Tank

Have a great week everyone!

Mattei’s

I just got back from three nights in Los Olivos. It was my first time staying at The Inn at Mattei’s Tavern. It’s a charming boutique hotel with an equestrian feel and a farmhouse modern twist. The rooms are beautifully decorated and so comfortable. The front porch with a swing and back patio just add to the charm. It’s only a short walk to town where you can take advantage of the many tasting rooms (Stolpman, Four Brothers, Carthartt, & Bodega Los Alamos) cute shops, and restaurants. We had some incredible meals while we were there. We had lunch at Bell’s, dinner at S.Y. Kitchen, Mattei’s Tavern, and Bar Le Cote. For only being a two hour drive from Los Angeles it really feels like you are on vacation.

City Girl

I’ve got the LA to NYC weekend trip down to a science. I take the Thursday night red eye arriving in NYC in the morning. I pack my Ursa Major wipes and do a face cleanse in the taxi on the way into the city. I apply a little make-up and I’m ready for the day. I drop my luggage off at the hotel and hit the ground running. This itinerary allows me to have two full days and time for Sunday brunch before heading home and having dinner with my family in LA. We stayed at the Soho Grand this time around which I really liked. The location is great and there’s quite a scene at night if you’re into that.

Now onto fashion, here are somethings I noticed while strolling the streets of NYC. The Acne scarf is everywhere along with the Toteme scarf coat, platform Uggs, oversized leather jackets (like below also like this & this), camel overcoats, and the chocolate North Face Nuptse. I stopped into Catbird to get zapped for a permanent bracelet. I also went into Loeffler Randall to check out these raffia Maryjane’s and woven Leonie ballet flats. Lastly, it was Sezane to scope out the Sezane x Sea collection (saw this cute top) and the Polene boutique where I spotted this chic bag.

Food highlights – Lunch at Pastis (the chicken Paillard was so good along with the people watching), sushi at Bond St. (Blue Ribbon on Sullivan is still my fave), lox & bagel at Sadelle’s, slice of pizza at Upside in Nolita, and a Levain Bakery chocolate chip cookie.

Have a great week everyone!

Highland Park

Good morning everyone! I hope you all had a nice weekend. My husband and I met up with friends on Saturday night in Highland Park. We started off at Nativo a charming and cozy bar/restaurant that serves up craft cocktails (I tried El Tesoro tequila for the first time which was really good), next it was dinner at Joy on York (amazing per usual), and finally a night cap at Good Housekeeping a tiny hipster bar nestled behind Cafe Birdie (super cute). Next time we are in the area we will hit Highland Park Bowl which was packed with people and would make for another fun outing in Highland Park.

Now onto fashion, Spring has sprung at J. Crew including new colors of the cashmere monogrammed sweater I’m wearing above. Also worth noting is this cashmere cropped cardigan, Barbour x House of Hackney Jacket (great collab), boucle Lady Jacket, and quilted denim Lady Jacket.

Above Outfit – A.P.C. Blazer // J. Crew Sweater // Mother Jeans // Isabel Marant Boots

Have a great week!

Wynwood

Happy New Year everyone! I am just returning from a trip to Florida. We started off in Navarre Beach (the Gulf Coast beaches are stunning!) and finished in Miami. It’s been several years since I’ve been to Miami so it was fun exploring. I loved the Miami Design District along with Wynwood. Wynwood is known for its colorful blocks upon blocks of murals , and is one of the city’s most happening districts. We had a delicious pastry from Zak the Baker, popsicles from Cielito, and tacos from La Tiendita. My retail therapy consisted of a stop into Pitua a budget friendly resort wear line. Coincidentally, that morning I had a spotted a very chic women at my hotel wearing a Pitusa crochet top, Dior bag, bottega wallet, and Gucci slides. While in the store I also found this long caftan, short caftan, crochet dress, and pants. If you happen to be in Miami a visit to Wynwood is a must! Have a great week everyone.

We had dinner at Wayfare Tavern, Tyler Florence’s upscale American eatery that is oozing charm. The deviled eggs and popovers were delicious. Friday morning we strolled over to the Ferry Building for breakfast at Daily Driver SF (really good bagel). Lastly, it was shopping on Jackson Street where I picked up this perfectly fitting herringbone blazer (size 34), and ballet flats (25% off and so comfy).

Ciao

I am just returning from a family trip to Italy. I thought you might enjoy hearing some details about my trip, so I’m sharing some highlights. First stop Rome, we stayed at Baubino 181. It’s a boutique hotel right off Piazza del Popolo. Our first evening we had drinks at Hotel de Russe (gorgeous garden setting) then dined at Roscioli Salumeria. Our second day we spent the day roaming the streets of Rome taking in the sites and then it was dinner at Nino. The food at Nino was great (service a bit icy) but we enjoyed the street side setting. We had coffee at the original Sant’ Eustachio il Cafe and lunch at Pizzaria Da Baffetto. Next it was off the Puglia, it’s just a 1 hour flight from Rome. The Rome Airport might be one of my all time favorite airports (the Eataly food court is insane). When we arrived in Puglia we rented a car and headed straight to Masseria Cervarolo. A stunning family run Masseria in Ostuni. The setting, grounds, decor, food, and service were outstanding! We enjoyed several 6 course dinners during our stay at the hotel, and the most amazing breakfasts. Everything prepared at this property is made with local ingredients and all the pastries are homemade. It truly exceeded our expectations. We fell in love with Ostuni, the town square is bustling with locals. We had dinner at Osteria del Tempo Perso at the top of Ostuni (request a table in the cave). The views from the top are spectacular. Our second evening it was dinner at Piazetta Grande Ostuni a gourmet meal served in a historic cathedral. We had amazing sandwiches at Les Sandwiches in Ostuni. We visited Polignano a Mare, Alberobello (famous for their trulli’s), and Lecce. Also on our itinerary was a day at Cocarro Beach club for a beach day and some shopping at Orsina Dansai. We enjoyed afternoons relaxing poolside at the beautiful Masseria and tasting all the amazing wines from Puglia. A truly special part of Italy that we can’t wait to go back and visit.
